Qurban Committee Should Monitor Sanitation

City Maritime, Agriculture and Food Security Dept asks the qurban committee to monitor sanitation in the slaughtering process. Thus the cleanliness and health of the environment can be maintained.

According to Darjamuni, Head of City Marine, Agriculture and Food Security Dept, there are some things that must be considered by the qurban committee. The things that must be watched are animal barking tool, equipment, hanging carcass, meat cutting table, as well as plastic wrapping where all must clean all.

"Aside that, water available should also be sufficient to maintain the cleanliness of the animals and the officer," he stated, at City Hall, Tuesday (9/6).

He added, the committee also has to deal with waste from animal that has been slaughtered properly. It is expected not to disturb the sewage pollution or environmental disturbance. "All should be considered properly, so as not to transmit the disease afterwards," he expressed.

He recorded, last year, there were 1,400 animal slaughterhouses. This year, 808 officers are spread to monitor slaughtering process. His dept has given technical guidance how to slaughter animal towards 655 people who are mosque committee.

"In the guidance, we give how to slaughter animal and type of disease that can be transmitted to humans," he closed.
